Project Background
Designed by Design.Ting, this apartment in Yibin uses a variety of materials and textures in deep tones to create a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. The 182-square-meter apartment is located on the 32nd floor of a building in downtown Yibin. The plan is open, with views of the canal flowing into the sea and the sunset in the evening. Design.Ting wanted to create a home where clients could lounge lazily on a sofa or windowsill, or relax while looking at the flowing canal.
Project Highlights
The space is detached from the traditional frame in terms of layout and color. Degree Design uses a range of black and dark materials as the focal point of its design to create a calm, cheerful atmosphere. Common areas feature simple partitions and two-way couches to make the living room feel more open. Cabinets that separate public and private areas allow for a more open, versatile layout. As light and shadow change during the day, so does the atmosphere in the space.
Spatial Composition
The designers love the natural texture of the wood and the coolness of the stainless steel - it creates a contrast that gives the space a really warm yet modern feel.
Materials & Processing Technology
The Design uses a lot of black in paint, cement paint and wood, and a lot of stainless steel and natural stone throughout the space. Sofas, carpets, curtains, wood floors and dining tables are custom made.
