Project Background
The basic situation of this project This project is located near the Drum Tower in Beijing. It is an old bungalow with less than 24 square meters. The house itself has a history of more than 100 years and is a traditional wooden beam-column structure, facing south. The owner of the house is a young woman who has lived in Japan for 7 years and is ready to return to her home country for development.
Interior Renderings
I feel that the space is very depressed, and after exposing the structural beams, the longitudinal height is stretched. Let people feel enlightened after entering the house. The beams and columns themselves are alive, and the wood itself breathes. As the uppermost structure of the room, there is no extra decoration. What we want is to return to the original.
About lighting: a skylight is designed on the roof at the entrance to make the interior of the space more comfortable. The changing light of the four seasons can be drawn inside the house through skylights. The original windows on the north wall were shifted and expanded horizontally, allowing more daylight to fill the interior.
