Project Background
Located in Kumasi, this restaurant was thoughtfully designed to deliver a refined and inviting dining experience. The layout integrates a central bar, buffet service area, and exclusive VIP seating to accommodate both comfort and privacy. Custom wall cladding and a carefully detailed false ceiling define the interior character, while efficient spatial planning ensures smooth circulation and functionality throughout the space.
Floor Plan
The restaurant plan is organized around clarity of movement, visual connectivity, and functional zoning. Upon entry, guests are naturally oriented by the immediate visibility of the bar area, which acts as a spatial anchor and wayfinding element. From this point, circulation gently branches into the general seating area, the buffet zone, and the VIP lounge without conflict between guest movement and staff service routes.
Interior Renderings
This restaurant design project explores the relationship between spatial flow, user experience, and atmospheric dining. The concept is driven by the idea of creating a cohesive environment where functionality and aesthetics work seamlessly together to enhance comfort, interaction, and visual appeal.
The general seating area forms the heart of the restaurant, designed to accommodate a variety of group sizes while maintaining visual order and comfort. Tables are arranged to allow clear circulation paths for both guests and staff, preventing congestion during peak hours. A mix of seating types—banquettes, loose chairs, and communal tables—adds flexibility and visual interest. Lighting is carefully layered to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere without overwhelming the space.
The bar area serves as a visual anchor within the restaurant, strategically positioned to be immediately noticeable upon entry while maintaining a seamless relationship with the main dining space. Designed as both a service point and a social hub, the bar combines functionality with a refined aesthetic. Warm lighting, textured finishes, and a bold counter material create an inviting atmosphere that encourages interaction and casual gathering.
The VIP lounge offers a more intimate and exclusive dining experience, separated from the main restaurant through spatial layering rather than complete enclosure. Soft furnishings, warmer lighting tones, and richer material finishes create a calm, luxurious ambiance distinct from the general seating area. Seating arrangements prioritize comfort and privacy, with generous spacing between tables.
Partitions within the restaurant are used as design features rather than barriers. They subtly define zones without interrupting sightlines or airflow. Materials such as wood slats, metal frames, glass panels, or decorative screens introduce texture and rhythm into the space while guiding movement. These elements provide partial privacy between areas like the VIP lounge, general seating, and circulation paths, enhancing spatial organization without creating a sense of enclosure.

The buffet area is designed for clarity, order, and ease of movement. Positioned to allow smooth circulation without interfering with seated guests, the layout supports a natural flow from food selection to dining. The buffet counters are arranged in a linear yet accessible format, allowing multiple users at once without congestion. Durable, easy-to-maintain surfaces were selected to withstand high traffic while maintaining a premium appearance.
